A statement released by Islamic fundamentalist group ISIS on Thursday criticised an article published in the Herald Sun comparing football supporters with jihadi terrorists, saying the organisation would never ‘stoop so low’ as to get involved with ‘lunatic’ football fans.
Published on Twitter, the brief statement from a senior leader in the ISIS administration accused Herald Sun journalist Aaron Langmaid of ‘lazy journalism’. “If Langmaid had done his job, he would know an organisation such as ours has its limits. To stoop so low, to even equate the work done by our organisation as being on par with the mindless destruction and terror sowed by those who support football? It’s lazy journalism.”
